π₯60 years old! A new circle ⭕️
60th birthday is a major milestone so I’m going to try to write 60 things that I remember about you over the past years. I wonder what you think about them. You might need 60 days to read all of them though.π
Happy 60th my forever friend, lover, husband, visioner, father of our children and many others who call you dad and Jesus-lover. ππ
- Born on the road while your parents were on a trip from one city to another. (π As usual, In a hurry to see the world and get things done. Right?)
- Patriarch of the Opadiya’s family. (Doted on and respected so much)
- Both of us had played together as toddlers without any memory of it. π
- We met for the 1st time as undergrads during a long vacation job
- Found out our parents had worked together many years before (explaining why we had played together as toddlers. π²)
- Attended Alaafia Nursery and Primary School, Ibadan
- Attended Ibadan Boys High School.
- Attended the premier University of Nigeria, University of Ibadan.
- Asked me to marry you on our First Date. π³ππΌ
- Travelled several times to visit me at my Uni campus
- A DJ for many yearsπ₯π§(« Who do u think u are Mr Deejay? »)π
- Loved the beer and cigarettes for many years
- Besties and lovers from our last undergrad year till we married four years afterward.
- Graduated in the same year but from a different Uni but managed to take graduation pics togetherπ
- Actually got called by our imaginary child’s name by our friends ever before we ever married and had kids. (Daddy Nimi and mommy Nimi.π³π€£Nimi is short for Oluwalonimi meaning « I belong to the Lord »
- I wished we had married immediately after you proposed to me on our first date. πThat would’ve saved us from an unforgettable regret. Just sayingπ΄ (But thank God for His mercies)
- Did your National Youth Service in Uyo, Cross Rivers’ State.
- Did your Masters’ degree in Entomology at University of Ibadan while teaching at some local high school.
- Got married to your bestie (me of course) in Owo
- Lectured at the faculty of Science in LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) for 6 years
- Had your firstborn son in 1989
- Best Dad ever
- Had a dramatic life-changing experience and committed to following Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and serving Him.
- Immediately asked to lead the Prayer department of the Chapel of Glory, under the mentorship of ps Sam Aiyedogbon
- Attended TRIFAB BIBLE COLLEGE in Lagos.
- Moved to Innsbruck, Austria to work with a Scientific Research Team
- Lived in Austria for over 5 years
- Undertook a PhD research in ecotoxicology under the sponsorship of the Austrian govt.
- Had your firstborn daughter in 1995
- Bagged a PhD in ecotoxicology from the Technical University in Austria
- Moved to Australia
- Pioneered a church plant under His People Christian Church which later became Every Nation Church.
- Attended the EVERY NATION CHURCH PLANTING AND PASTORS’ SCHOOL in Nashville Tennessee USA.
- A new era! University lecturer turned Pastor!! Became passionate about telling people how to meet Jesus!!!
- Passionate about raising godly leaders, especially young adults
- Oversees the Every Nation Congregational church organization in Sydney
- Serving as the Hub Leader of the Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Papa New Guinea and Fiji.
- Been married for 32 years.
- Selfless
- Best servant-hearted husband award
- Best servant hearted leader that I know
- Best servant hearted dad that I know
- Patient and forgiving
- Best servant hearted in-law award
- Exuberant and energetic
- Lover of coffee and sweets π€¨
- A great visioner
- Compassionate and kind

- Hardworking and determined
- Never afraid to tell me offπ
- Easily wants to repair and make up for any selfish behaviours
- Loves to smile and jest (with some weirdness to itπ)

- A follower of home and world events
- A soccer/football fan

May nations come to the light of your shining and may mighty kings come to see the brightness of your rising. May your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren be mighty in the land. May we grow old together in divine health and still advancing God’s kingdom here on earth.
